European Day of Languages 2021
The celebration of the European Day of Languages on 26 September was established by a decision of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on 6 December 2001. This year marks the 20th anniversary of this celebration. The purpose of celebrating the European Day of Languages is: • The promotion of foreign language learning. • The preservation and further cultivation of Europe 's linguistic richness. • Learning other languages besides the more widely known ones. • The inclusion of less spoken languages in the languages that students learn, etc
On Wednesday 29/9/2021 we completed, at the 5th primary of Kilkis, the language week, which started last Thursday. It was the day of the presentations of the actions in which each department of the School worked. The day was dedicated to European, mainly languages and the teachers of the departments collaborated harmoniously with the foreign language teachers of our school, Ms. Barbara Efthymiadou, Stamatia Tokatlidou (English), Stefania Kosmidou (German) and Irini Tataridou (French). The result was the production of original ideas and the involvement of all school children.
Activities including proverbe puzzles, dialogues in different languages, anecdotes about language learning, the right to identity through creative dialogues, the values of life in different languages, a huge cryptocurrency, the word "love" in different languages, colored with colors of the flags of the countries from the first year, the Latin alphabet with simple words in different languages from the second, The song "brother John" in English, French, German. Dialogues between teachers, polite phrases, how I buy a book, etc. It was a really worthwhile effort and an original, in-school event, which spread smiles of satisfaction on teachers and children.
